Top 5 Best of California

Top 5 Best of California

My recent trip to California was amazing. We took a quick getaway for an extended weekend to the sunny state. It was such a good time. From shopping at small shops, eating some delicious meals, to just beaching it all day. I created a list of some of my favorite activities to share. These are in no particular order.

1. Costa Mesa/Newport- I loved this area.

Lido Marina- This is a must! Aside from cute shops and delicious eateries, there are great sight seeing areas. Rent a boat and sail the marina for a few hours. It's so relaxing and you can see all the gorgeous homes and boats. Grab a bite to eat afterwards or hit the shops for a little retail therapy. After our boat ride, we had a delicious meal of fish and chips. I went to the Malibu Farms store on the marina. It's right next door to the restaurant. I'm a fan of their cookbook so stopping by was a must. They have some of the dreamiest home decor.

South Coast Plaza has some amazing shopping. The Nordstrom Rack had some amazing finds. This mall also houses one of my favorite stores CB2.

2.Venice and Melrose

I love Melrose. It's so photogenic and such a beautiful area. I had Joe and the Juice for the first time and it did not dissapoint. A little on the pricier side but totally worth it. This juice was delicious.

Abbott Kinney Blvd- Located near Venice Beach. This is a must if near the Venice area.
This street is full of cute little shops and restaurants. My favorite was Tumbleweed and Dandelion. They had some of the dreamiest home decor. I wanted to buy everything! But I settled for just a few knick knacks.

3.Malibu

The original Malibu Farms restaurant. They have a beautiful patio that overlooks the ocean that serves delicious smoothies. I loved that this entire area is so environmentally friendly and using paper straws!

4. Laguna Beach

This was in my opinion one of the most beautiful and scenic beaches. Start by having a bite at the Deck or Driftwood Kitchen, These restaurants are right on the ocean and have some insane views. The food is absolutely delicious. I had a mahi mahi sandwich and it was to die for. After eating, head down to the beach. Take pictures, play volley ball, go for a swim, or just simply relax and take in the views. There's so much you can do. This was my absolute favorite beach!

I had gelato from Gelato Paradiso. The line was around the corner because they are supposed to have the best gelato. After waiting in the line, I must agree. My favorite gelato flavor is black cherry and this place did not disappoint. It was so good and definitely worth the wait.

5. Irvine

Irvine Spectrum Center-  This outdoor shopping center is great for families. Tons and tons of stores with activities to do for kids. There's a ferris wheel in the center and several play areas.

Thanks for reading.
